• Knowledge of Solaris 8 and 10 (certification preferred)
• Experience of Red hat version 4, 5 and 6
• Red hat Certified (RHCE)
• Understanding of UNIX / Linux patching processes
• Experience of EMC Symmetrix hardware / software
• Knowledge of Brocade SAN switches
• Good understanding of SAN zoning procedures
• Knowledge of VMWare version 5 and 6
• Experience with VEEAM Backup / replication software
• Good knowledge of Apache and Tomcat
• Understanding of SSL, Perl, Ruby and Java languages

This position is for an all-round experienced IT person who is responsible for the overall storage management, backup and system administration of corporate DAS / NAS / SAN Storage Systems and UNIX / Linux Enterprise Systems. Also included in this role is the central management of our diskless backups and cloud replication and DR implementation. As part of the Datacenter Operations team this function covers the infrastructure and support services including:

• 10+ years of UNIX, Storage and Backup experience.

• Large datacenter environment experience is Mandatory.

• Knowledge of Direct Attached Storage (DAS) Architecture

• Storage Area Network (SAN) Architecture.

• Knowledge of Network Attached Storage (NAS)

• Understanding of Central Enterprise Backup Services

• Online Storage-based Data-Replication & Archiving

• Online Host-based Data-Replication & Archiving

• Cloud backup and storage replication.

• Contingency planning for Disaster and Recovery

• Unix/Linux/Midrange based Enterprise Systems Architecture

• Solid VMware experience

• Knowledge of VEEAM backup / replication

• Server and Storage Capacity Planning and Performance Management

• Operating System- and Data Storage security

• Advising and supporting Business IT Groups requirements.

• Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.

• Ability to work independently with little supervision
