Designation Software Platform Architect
Job Description
  • Responsible for architecture, design, development of firmware for high-performance voice over IP system.
  • Responsible for working with Hardware Team in Board selection, prototyping, board bringup and development and debugging.
  • Provide technical leadership through participation in every phase of a project, from requirements, architecture, design, coding, unit testing, integration, maintenance, customer escalations and reviews.
  • Provide technical guidance to other team members and mentor new team members.
  • Work closely with Hardware, Quality, Global Development Teams and Manufacturing, making architectural decisions and design tradeoffs.
Desired Profile
  • Experience in Embedded Software Design and Development.
  • Experience working with the ARM A8/ A9 CPU families.
  • Exposure to end to end product definition/ development/ maintenance ( From chipset selection to customer escalations).
  • Experience in Linux kernel development.
  • Experience in custom embedded hardware bring up.
  • Experience using a Linux platform build system like Wind River or OpenEmbedded/ Angstrom.
  • Maintaining an Embedded Linux development environment (toolchains, sysroot, NFS dev/testing environment).
  • Low level Linux networking configuration and debugging.
  • U-Boot boot loader development and configuration.
  • Testing and debugging experience on embedded Linux platforms.
  • Experience with version control systems: GIT, SubVersion, etc.
  • Experience in software toolchains, RTOS, Embedded Linux, bare metal development.
  • Should be proficient in coding with C language.
  • Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and must be able to work independently and prioritize tasks for self and for team as needed.
  • Exposure to Android is a plus.
